Las Vegas's trade show season has come!

We will be at MAGIC & PROJECT showing our Spring/Summer 2010 collections in Las Vegas again.
At MAGIC which held in Aug 31~Sept 2, we'll be showcasing latest collections for "ODDS" & "BASIQUENTI" in Las Vegas Convention Center, North Hall : booth#: AC12631.
"CLVR" will be co-currently shown in PROJECT which runs Sept 1~3 at The Sand's Expo, booth#: 9057.

Here is another song from great performer called "Akiko Wada" in SHOWA era.
She was known for her superb voice over the years, but saddly she has lost her signature voice due to heavy drinking.
This song "Furui Nikki" was too early for Japanese crowd at that time, but I believe this is one of the best FUNK ever recorded in JAPAN.
Too bad, there isn't any video versions on Youtube.

I thought this was the best quality MJ's video I could find on YouTube, so I had to share with you all.

SHOWA JIDAI 2

I found this clip from YouTube about another Showa Jidai performer "Katsuko Kanei".
This song was performed in 1973 and it was one of the best seller songs.
I don't know about the songs but she looks really cute with white based outfits. If you look closer, her vintage inspired cap got beading all over and huge diamond looking broach on back.

SHOWA JIDAI

Aah, good old days of "SHOWA".
SHOWA is one of Japanese period lasted from 1926 through 1989.

Throughout 70's in Japan, Kenji Sawada was one of the greatest Japanese performer, also my favorites. Check out this great performance of his in 1979 which I found on YouTube, wearing skinny pants with black & white oxford shoes, white jacket and finishes with great summer fedora.

Japanese Lesson #1

I have been in apparel business for almost 10 years, and almost everyone I met has either visited Japan or planning to visit Japan. So Today's post, I would like to give some Japanese lessons.

First of all, learning Japanese could be difficult for those of who speaks Latin/Greek originated languages such as English, Spanish, and French. But any GAIJIN who does speak proper Japanese can benefit a lot in Japan.

1st Lesson:
"SUMIMASEN" [soo-mi muh-sen]
Originally SUMIMASEN means "Excuse me" in English, but it can be used in several different situations.

-When you enter a store (especially restaurants),

-When you want to get some attention,

-When you apologize to someone,

"SUMIMASEN" is good word to use, once I overheard Paris Hilton saying the word when she visited some Japanese restaurant.
